Jr. Auxiliary Angel Tree is Now at the Library

The annual Jr. Auxiliary Angel Tree is now at the Winston County Library and has 257 needy children who are ready to be "adopted" for Christmas. There are four drop off dates at the Louisville Fire Station, but the last date is November 26.

Thursday, October 27 3:30 – 4:30 Monster Puppet Program for children. Come and make your own Monster Puppet to take home!

Friday, October 28 3:30 – 4:30 Teen Halloween Costume Party. Games, Prizes, Refreshments!

Decorating Paper Pumpkins at The Winston County Libary

These young ladies had fun decorating paper pumpkins at the Winston County Library. A craft table is set up at the library for anyone who wants to have fun decorating a paper pumpkin. They are (l-r) Kylie Hilliard (age 6) and Lana Hilliard (age 3), children of Shannon Hilliard and Logan Hilliard.

Winston County Library & WCCRF Work Together to Better Prison Library

The Winston County Library and the Winston/Choctaw Correctional Facility work together each year to help in the accreditation process for the facility. Librarian Beth Edwards (left) provides training and suggestions for the prison library. Edwards conducted training last week with (from left) Alexis Bush, Administrative Assistant; Anthony McIntosh, Chaplain and Dirk Hutchinson, Inmate Librarian (back). “I am so impressed with the improvements I saw last week in the library at WCCRF. And in the coming months, we are going to work together to add even more opportunities for reading and learning at the prison, if possible”, said Edwards. “I believe this is very important work, not only for the standing for our local prison, but for the inmates themselves.”

Job Opening at the Winston County Library
