Welcome to Your Mississippi Library (National Library Week 4-10)

April 4-10th, 2021 is National Library Week and the Winston County Library will be celebrating a little differently this year.  While there will be no large gatherings in our meeting room for author events or luncheons honoring our City and County leaders for their continued support for the library, we will be hosting a few events that everyone can enjoy.

Beginning Monday, April 5th, you can go on our faceBook page and guess the number of candy pieces in the jar on our circulation counter.  Once you see the jar of candy online, then call 662-773-3212 and tell us your guess.  Or you can come in the library and see it for yourself!  The winner gets the jar of candy!

On Tuesday, April 6th, our children’s librarian Andrea McHenry will do a special virtual storytime on our faceBook page, so be sure and watch for this!

On Thursday, April 8th, we will host a mobile blood drive from 11-2pm in front of the library.  Please call 662-773-3212 to make an appointment.

And on Friday, April 9th, there will be a plant swap from 9-1 in front of the library.   Thanks to our local garden clubs for participating in this fun event.  Just in time for your spring garden planting!

We are so blessed to have this wonderful building here in Louisville.  I’ve been to many libraries in Mississippi, and The Winston County Library is one of the most beautiful ones there is – inside and out.  People visiting from out of town marvel at how warm and inviting  it is.  But more important than having an impressive piece of architecture, the staff and patrons and local officials who support the library services are priceless to this community.  We offer so many free services to everyone that cannot be found anywhere else.

We truly do want to Welcome You To Your Mississippi Library!
